Scope of the 2010 TMP Update

The Town continues to strongly support the vision outlined in the 2006 TMP. However, new planning initiatives such as the Provincial Places to Grow Act, the development of Richmond Hill Regional Centre, intensification in the Downtown Area, growth in Langstaff and transportation initiatives from Metrolinx and York Region require a reconsideration of some of the input assumptions and implementation strategies presented in the 2006 TMP.

This technical update will assess the performance of the recommended transportation alternative with the updated Places to Grow land use forecast and with the recently identified major infrastructure initiatives to 2031.

In support of the development of the new Official Plan and the implementation of the 2006 TMP, the current update will also consider the development of a Parking Strategy and Downtown Transportation Strategy for the Town.
